Trip to Leicester City

Hey Guys,

I'm sure many of you have heard of Leicester City Or actually been there. I thought I would share with you my day trip to Leicester and you can hear my thoughts and opinions about the City itself.

Traveling from my area to Leicester took me around 1hour 53minutes to get to by car, driving along the first ever motorway built M1. On arrival to Leicester I drove past many houses, churches and parks before actually reaching the centre of Leicester.

Leicester is a Historic Town with many old buildings; St. Nicholas Church, Rupert's Gateway which now stands on Castle View, Medieval Buildings, Guildhall, Old Pubs and many more. It is the oldest City in England with a modern shopping centre built in 2008. There is also a University very close by to the Town City Centre.

Its quite a big town City in my opinion. I got quite lost being there for the first time however by the end of the trip got familiar with only the shopping centre area which is a bit sad I know but at least I found my way around somewhere, hahaha. Leicester has many things to view, if your interested in the history, for me it was just something that was just along the way so I thought why not check out a few of these historic buildings. I myself find Leicester to be different from most City towns and as much as it was a nice trip down, I find its not a place I would much like to revisit. In my opinion I am so luckily to live close by so many great places I can get to like Windsor, lots of parts of London, Guildford, Reading and many more, yet I can still go on a day trip or few days away to places like Leicester, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds. Speaking of these places, I have not actually visited any of them other then this one as I write this post. Maybe at some point I'll visit them but for now I have just returned from this Historic Town a few days ago.

Leicester has some pretty descent shops for an Historic Town and much more of a range of shops compared to Windsor (the Queen's town) yet they are still ok for going shopping to for someone who lives in the South East of Berkshire and don't want to travel far. I seem to have found when shopping round in Leicester for it to be very over crowded and I don't know if that was just on the day and my luck. I kept seeing to find the locals just pushing between one another and I know some of you are properly thinking, really but compared to the big London crowds it was much more crowded in Leicester then London. This may be because London is much bigger and spacious, that you don't actually feel so so crowded when shopping around. Yet as I said it could have just been my luck on the day, who knows.

Leister as a whole was a nice and different trip which I would recommend to visit at some point and get a feel about the historic town for yourself however I don't feel as if it is a hot spot.

So here are a few Snap Shot photos of my Trip:
